: Heather: I'm not a doctor and I don't know your history or if there are any other issues aside from PCOS that might warrant IVF but I wonder whether you ever did a cycle using a low dose protocol (i.e. starting with one amp a day.) I did several cycles of multiple amps and then switched doctors (to Cornell, where Dr. Spandorfer is a member of the staff) and did a low dose cycle and got pregnant immediately. If IVF is warranted for other reasons (i.e. male factor, tubal, etc.), you might want to look at the article that Drs. Spandorfer and Rosenwaks did for the AIA newsletter a few months ago on IVF and PCOS. It discusses a protocol involving suppression with birth control pills, then lupron, then stimulation with gonadotropins. It might be something that you want to share with your doctor. Please don't lose hope, however. And please continue to use this board. Good luck, Ellen Bender, AIA Board Member
