And I guess the other point I wanted to make is that by calling one organization the "official" organization of such and such disease, it makes is sound like they have a monopoly on that disease. That isn't good for any issue related to women's health. Indeed, the breast cancer patient movement is made up of literally hundreds of patient support and education groups, none of which claim to be the "official" voice for women with breast cancer, all of which work toward the important goals of patient support, education and advocacy and funding research to find a cure.
