I think that the answer is that it depends on who your RE is. From personal experience I can tell you that not all REs automatically test a PCOS patient for insulin resistance but that is changing as more and more REs are educated about PCOS and the insulin connection. I suspect, however, that both Dr. Spandorfer and Dr. Stein do test for insulin resistance.
