I'm investigating domestic adoption. International adoption is out as I'm not yet an American citizen; I'm a permanent resident.
Open adoption seems to be quite popular, and I've heard about varying degrees of openess. I can appreciate the door being open for an adoptive child to get information and at some time have the opportunity to visit, and I can also appreciate the need for a birthmother to maintain a connection. However, I've read about open adoptions relationships that seem more open than I think I'd be comfortable with. Does anyone have experience with open adoption?
