The IVF Experience

A one day educational seminar.

What: The American Infertility Association on Sunday, January 23rd, 2000 from 9-2 will sponsor an IVF Seminar. Both the veteran and the newcomer to the IVF experience will be able to benefit from this distinguished group of experts.

Topics: 9:00am - 10:00am The Medical Overview - Understanding the IVF cycle; when it is medically appropriate to consider it and when to move on to other options.

Speaker - Frederick Licciardi, MD, The NYU IVF Program

 

10:00am -11:00am Cycling and the Medications - Everything you would like to know about Medications; from choosing a protocol, to the risk of cancer and the medications.

Speaker - The Center for Reproductive Medicine and Infertility at Cornell Medical Center

 

11:00am -12:00pm The Psychological Issues - Exploring the emotional ups and downs of an IVF cycle and learning coping skills.

Speaker - Patricia Mendell, CSW, psychotherapist

 

12:00pm -1:00pm What If My Cycle Fails? - Why IVF can fail and how to make contingency plans.
